| 1. Anthropic launches Claude Marketplace, plus two new Claude Code features: The Claude Marketplace lets enterprise customers use a portion of their existing Anthropic spend commitment to purchase third-party software built on Claude, with no commission on transactions. Early marketplace partners include Snowflake, Lovable, GitLab, Harvey, Replit, and Rogo. Anthropic also shipped two new Claude Code features: local scheduled tasks on desktop that run as long as the computer is awake, and a new loop command that runs recurring prompts for up to 3 days. | 2. OpenAI reveals Codex Security, an AI-powered application security agent that identifies code vulnerabilities: Codex Security works by building deep context around a codebase to detect complex vulnerabilities, validating them in sandboxed environments, and proposing ready-to-deploy fixes. Over the past 30 days, Codex Security has already scanned over 1.2 million commits β surfacing 792 critical and 10,500+ high-severity findings across open-source projects. Itβs available now in research preview for Pro, Enterprise, Edu, and Business customers. | 3. OpenAI's Head of Robotics and Hardware resigns over the company's deal with the Pentagon: Caitlin Kalinowski, who previously led Meta's AR glasses team before joining OpenAI in late 2024, attributed her resignation to OpenAIβs deal with the Department of War. She claimed that the companyβs decision was rushed, with safeguards around domestic surveillance and lethal autonomy not properly defined. The resignation adds to mounting fallout for OpenAI β ChatGPT uninstalls have surged 295% since the announcement, and Claude has dethroned ChatGPT as the No. 1 app in the App Store. Read Kalinowskiβs full statement here. |

| | | Every AI agent demo looks magical, but most hit a wall in enterprise deployment. It's not model quality or latency. It's authorization. Authentication proves an agent's identity. Authorization defines its blast radius. | The winners in enterprise AI won't have the most features. They'll be the ones enterprises can safely trust. | FROM THE FRONTIER | Some of last yearβs splashiest startups are struggling |

| Fall from grace. The AI industry moves fast β and highly-ambitious startups can vanish just as quickly as they appear. While companies like Lovable, Cursor, and Base44 are scaling at a record pace, a few previously-loud names have shut down, pivoted, and even admitted to lying about revenue numbers. | Cluely admits to faking revenue. Cluely made headlines last year for its viral βcheat on everythingβ marketing campaigns. Now, CEO Roy Lee publicly admitted to lying about the companyβs revenue numbers. And heβs not alone: Builder. ai, a Microsoft-backed unicorn, collapsed into bankruptcy after reports of inflating revenue and humans doing work marketed as AI. Then there's Icon, an AI-ad startup that spent $12M on its domain and vowed to βbreak the ARR recordβ β only for its website to reportedly go dark. | Gaming the scoreboard. One issue is that the industryβs favorite metric, annual recurring revenue (ARR), is fairly easy to manipulate. Startups can inflate the figure by front-loading annual contracts, counting one-time pilots as recurring, or β in the most extreme cases β roundtripping spend with friendly companies to create the illusion of demand and gain positive press. | This doesnβt mean the AI boom is fake. Many AI companies are experiencing genuine hypergrowth, building real tech, and delivering value at a massive scale. But for every breakout startup, thereβs another reminding us that the line between "hypergrowth" and "hype" can be dangerously thin. |
